About this event
@
The City of Aiken Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department will host the 38th Annual Downtown Tree Lighting on Thursday, December 3, 2026, from 6 to 7:30 PM at Newberry Street Festival Center. The event is free and open to the public. In case of rain, the event will be held Friday, December 4th.
This holiday tradition will feature live performances from local choirs, festive music, refreshments, family activities and special visits from the Mayor and Santa Claus. Guests can enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and cider or purchase s’mores kits to roast by the fire.
The highlight of the evening will be the lighting of Aiken’s 24-foot “dancing” Christmas tree, with more than 8,000 lights synchronized to holiday classics.
